Program & Event Planning Internship for MPACT Memphis
TITLE:
Program & Event Planning Intern
OVERVIEW:
Ideal for anyone looking to learn more about nonprofit program and event research, planning, and execution. This flexible internship is a great mix of office experience and event production, ranging from happy hours to committee meetings.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan and execute MPACT programs in conjunction with Committee Chairs and Community Partners.
• Recruit and manage volunteers for appropriate events.
• Make necessary venue reservations, food purchases, etc. for events.
• Actively solicit and cultivate relationships with organizations throughout the city to increase funding and quality of programming.
• Maintain data on all aspects of MPACT programming, including number of attendees, costs, and other metrics as determined by the Executive Director.
• Work with Communications Coordinator to create and maintain program marketing materials.
• Work with Executive Director and Committee Chairs to maintain master calendar of MPACT events and track event attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous administrative office experience required.
• Some college required.
• Excellent organizational skills (oral and written) and the ability to excel at details, multi-tasking, and working under pressure.
• Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must be able to work some nights and weekends.

The internship is unpaid, but MPACT is more than happy to work with the intern to obtain college credit.
